I woke up at 4am
--to join the 5club this morning - and it was awesome. Never thought I’d say that about 5 am.
you are an artist
“you are an artist. you are not your art.”
“…if your art doesn’t work you’ll be back tomorrow with more & better art.”
I have not listened nor read Seth Godin in a handful of months. Today, I took a minute to sit down and this was the first thing I heard.
Gotta love those Sundays.

a little post on posts
Sometimes when you keep a personal work blog you forget that others actually follow it - I apologize. I’ve had people ask & email recently about what happened to my blog? Well, nothing. It’s here. The question would be, what happened to me - And that is a different answer.
For a while I brushed it off, I’ve been busy. Not in the “I’m too busy to do anything” way - but in the “I’ve been working hard & enjoying my time off equally” way. I’ve went home off and on this year to see my family & my grandmother who is currently in the process of kicking cancer’s butt. I’m having great success at work, which I feel hesitant to write b/c I’m undoubtedly certain that as soon as I am happy about things a client will turn their evil eyes upon my last draft. MID & GP are in the process of finalizing some big decisions. But none-the-less, just because I may not post as often right now on my personal work, doesn’t mean I’m not working. Doesn’t mean I’m not creating. It certainly doesn’t mean anyone should feel bad b/c it looks as though I don’t have time for my “personal” work. Currently, my “personal work” is enjoying my life.
Work is good. Life is good. Sometimes you just have to create as it comes to you - don’t force it.
Enjoy the rest of this year.

Sometimes, you just want chocolate cake for dinner & nothing else really matters. Luckily, one of our local coffee shops makes a pretty mean vegan chocolate zucchini cake that I thoroughly enjoyed lastnight. (i did have a salad before to make myself feel less guilty)
Those days where cake is the answer, those are the ones made of pondering thoughts and plans. Scheduling out the future and mapping out points you know must be met so that you can see the room in-between left open for adventure. Those days aren’t particularly bad, but you don’t exactly welcome them with open arms.
The good news is, cake has been eaten, plans have been made & flustered thoughts have been settled. Now it’s time to act - Just in time for the weekend.
